Situated close to Enmore Rd, this project involved extending a single-story cottage for a growing family, to add an upper story with additional bedrooms and bathrooms. A prior rear extension was demolished with the principle two rooms of the cottage retained towards the street.

Featuring blackened timber cladding at the upper story, external sliding privacy screens and a series of playful privacy fins along the western and southern elevations, the design sought to introduce additional light and air into the ground floor as well as the addition bedrooms on the upper floor despite the principally southern aspect. Bold, brightly coloured joinery units bring a playfulness to all spaces from the deep green of the kitchen to the vivid orange and blue of the bedrooms. The new kitchen/dining space seamlessly opens onto the outer deck with the addition of a newly installed bifold door, merging interior, and exterior space and encouraging outdoor living.
